It blows my mind that something this beautiful came out of me during a year of such devastating loss. This collection is dedicated to everyone who saved my life in 2009. May that year rest in peace.

Matt sent me some more tracks to add to The Escape. We hadn't recorded vocals for "the escape" yet, so that song is a piano instrumental. I plan to learn how to play it again and eventually record it with vocals. It's more than a little sad that I can't remember how to play most of the songs from this album anymore.

I may be re-designing the website soon, because I'm tired of it being the way it has always been. I'm still working on getting a job and moving out of my parents house so I can start recording my new songs. Wish me luck!

So this isn't exactly what I had in mind by releasing a new album this year, but close enough. LOL I have a full-length album recorded that just needs to be mixed/mastered. Maybe next year. Meanwhile, Matt Engel has been finishing up some of the tracks from our album "The Escape." Plus, he recorded a version of "Haunting" with him singing! There is more of this album to come, and I'll upload new tracks as Matt sends them to me. This album is free to download from the music page, but donations are always appreciated. :)

Thank you to Matt Engel for finishing two of the songs we were working on for the album before I moved to Oregon! They are now available for download on the Music  page. :) In other news, I have a bunch of recordings that I need to mix/master for a full-lengthl "live" album.  They are just songs I played for myself at home and recorded, like the videos for the Going Nowhere Tour. I'm trying to find the time and patience to finish that project, but I am lazy and unmotivated. Feel free to harass me, and maybe I will try harder!

I'm proud to announce my first new release produced by Matt Macfarlane! Check out the new music page for an mp3 of Landslide and more! The So Pretty demo is now available to download on the honor system, meaning I trust that you'll donate if you enjoy listening to it. All the internet singles Matt Engel & I released between 2006 and 2009 are also available. I am happy to make all this music accessable to you, and I hope that you will help raise money for Matt Engel's hospital bills through your donations.

I decided to end the Going Nowhere Tour for now, since I haven't been able to keep up with making the videos every month.  I'd like to get back in the studio and start releasing more mp3s like Landslide instead. :) I will definitely continue the tour again at some point though!

Remote Impact now has a fan page on facebook! It's a work in progress at the moment. There is no special URL for it, as far as I can tell. So just search for us on facebook and become a fan!

I removed the mark-up on all the products in the CafePress Stores, which means there is no profit for me when you make a purchase. Now everything is more affordable, and I just look at it as free advertising if anyone should happen to buy something. They require too much personal information in order to get paid anyway. I'd rather just have the stuff available. Maybe someday when I have money, I'll order the postcards for myself. :P I sure do love postcards...

I am afraid there is some bad news to announce as well. Matt Engel, who recorded and played on the Butterfly EP, is in the hospital. He had multiple strokes due to pressue on his brain, yet he is recovering much faster than anyone expected! He still has a LONG way to go though. Since hospital care is not even close to being cheap, I've decided to put all Remote Impact's income from music sales/streams and donations (small and pitiful as it may be) towards Matt's medical bills.  So if you have been looking for gift ideas or a way to treat yourself... why not a good CD that benefits a good cause? :) I encourage friends & family to by-pass CDBaby and contact me directly, so CDBaby's $4 cut of your money can go to Matt instead!

I only have two new live videos done for the tour this month. Hopefully I'll be able to get a full set done in August.

This set was filmed in a different location, since I moved to Portland, OR this month.  I finally found the courage to leave my husband and start a better life for myself.  Our almost completed album will probably be deleted, which is just as well, because I want to work on my newer songs now anyway.  I will record whichever songs I feel like working on at the moment and release them online.  When I have an album worth of songs finished, I may release an actual CD.  I don't know.  I only know that I found someone who enjoys working on my music as much as I do: Matt Macfarlane.  We are just having fun making music for ourselves and welcome you to listen to what we've created!  He is taking over as my new recording engineer and making sounds-other-than-the-main-piano-part for my songs.  We are going for a more Ambient/Electronica sound than the Pop/Rock of the Butterfly EP.  Hopefully this won't be the last set of videos I do for this online tour!  We are moving to an apartment next month, so it may be harder to record videos there.  I'll still try to record videos of my new songs as I write them though.  There is a studio version of "Landslide" that is almost finished! You can look forward to hearing it on myspace sometime in July.
